New Albums In the Works — Bruno Mars x Kesha x Usher

bruno-mars-bwBruno Mars has been on one whirlwind since his debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans and he can only continue to grow musically & chart higher. He’s in the process of working on his 3rd studio album and vows to become a better songwriter.

“I want to write better songs, I want to put on better shows, I want to make better music videos. I want my next album to be better than the first and the second. I don’t sit down and think, ‘I’m going to write a song’, Inspiration hits me always unexpectedly: on a plane, when I’m out or just before I go to bed. An idea will suddenly come to my mind, and sometimes I manage to turn it into lyrics the next day. Sometimes it’ll take me one year to get something real out of it. You can’t force creativeness.”

He’ll be in good company with his new project and will be working again with producers Mark RHonson and Jeff Bhasker. Regardless of who he’s working with I can’t wait for some new Bruno music. I’m interested in seeing where his career will go next.

Kesha-Rehab-OverKe$ha has dropped the dollar sign and now simply goes by Kesha and is working on an album with ZEDD. Billboard Brazil reported:

“Ke$ha (Kesha or, as she prefers after leaving rehab) would not hear of vacation. The star, who recently left a treatment to combat eating disorders, is already in full swing, working with Zedd, responsible for the worldwide hit “Clarity”, and that, too, subscribes to produce some tracks on the disc artpop by Lady Gaga.”

I’m not too sure how to feel about a new Kesha album, but I’m interested in hearing the music she’s working on with her new found identity and what not. She’s not doing too bad with the success of ‘Timber.’ Marketing wise she needs to get some singles going while the song is still hot.

The Voice - Season 4Usher is teaming up with Dr. Luke, the man who has been credited for catapulting Kesha’s career yet stunting her creative growth. Despite that ‘rumored’ controversy, R&B icon & Voice judge looks past that at he gears up to work with Dr. Luke on his 8th studio album. As an Usher fan, which is somewhat now questionable, am I excited? No! Look at the track record of Dr. Luke: Avril Lavigne, ‘Girlfriend’; Katy Perry ‘I Kissed a Girl’ / ‘Roar’; Kelly Clarkson, ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’, plus countless co-production for various artists. My issue? He doesn’t do R&B. Despite R&B being a ‘dying breed’ Usher is clearly in it for the radio success which turns to hits which turns to radio overplay which turns to award  nominations which equals great marketing. Usher for me is and will always be an R&B singer. I hate that he strays away from what made him the artist that he is. Creativity is one thing, switching genres is another.

Who knows what is to come and how much influence Dr. Luke will have on this album. Dr. Luke tweeted.

If that’s the case I guess I’m ok if Usher has a ‘Dark Horse’ sound because it’s not EXTREMELY pop to me. The sound is tolerable.
