The-Dream released a video, ‘Black’ which was inspired by Nelson Mandela. He explained the concept behind the powerful video:
“I needed to take a step in a direction away from my comfort zone and do and say and sing something worthwhile. I think this way all the time, and I spend most of my day in the battle of being Black and being a minority. Money has not changed my status in the department of racism and or classism.”
This is his first project since leaving Def Jam and teaming back with Tricky Stewart. In addition to the video he’s announced via Instagram that an EP is on the way by the name of Royalty: The Preqel. Fans will not have to wait long for this EP as it is available for download on 7.7.7. That’s right tomorrow, July 7th, at 7pm you will be able to download The-Dream’s new EP.
