Ludacris to Host 2014 Billboard Awards

Jennifer Lopez will be receiving the grandest honor of the evening as she’s presented with the Icon Award at the 2014 BBMAs. The show would just not be a show without a host, right? Well, Ludacris will be hosting this years awards show and I’m quite surprised that he was chosen. Then again check out his track record on the charts.Judge-Rejects-Ludacris-Gagging-Order-Request

  • 18 Hot 100 top 10 singles
  • 5 #1 albums on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums

Aside from all that chart topping he’s also established himself as a pretty reputable actor playing in a variety of movies from Crash to the franchise Fast & Furious.

He’s been able to juggle both acting and music successfully and his latest album, Ludaversal, is set to be released this fall. Check out the video for his track, ‘Party Girls’, below:

Her new, yet to be titled album, will feature collaborations with Chris Brown, Nas, Rick Ross, Pitbull, Maxwell, French Montana (‘I Luh Ya Papi‘), and more. It’s expected release date is June 17th. As for the direction of the new album J. Lo stated, in an interview with Rap-Up:

Video Review: Jennifer Lopez, ‘I Luh Ya Papi’

Jennifer Lopez is back with new music and her 10th studio album. Now personally I am a fan of her Jenny From the Block Days, but her music now? Eh, not so much.

First off, kudos to how FAB she looked in this video. I will say this time and time again. There comes a certain point in an artists career when they make the music they want and not so much the music that’s current. That is how I feel about the direction of this J. Lo project. Her first track ‘Same Girl’ was ok. I got the video concept, I just personally didn’t like the song.

Now on to ‘I Luh Ya Papi.’ The video really had nothing to do with the song, but the intro in the beginning explained it all. Guys ALWAYS have the videos with the half naked chicks on a yacht or in a mansion FOR NO REASON! So in the video she flipped the script and had half naked dudes on the yacht while prancing around on a yacht, in front of a pool, and in a mansion for no reason. Sounds about right to me. It was just a fun concept with choreo here and there and an appearance from French Montana. Also, peep J. Lo incorporating the ‘Nae Nae’ in her choreo. I guess it works since videos have no messages now. In a way this video did have a message showing that what’s out right now makes no sense. The video concepts and the choreography are boring and bland.

Do I expect to hear this track on the radio? I don’t know, but the hook (I luh ya Papi, I luh ya, luh ya, luh ya papi) is stuck in my head. So I guess my answer is maybe.

Rihanna has been taking a mini-vacay celebrating her birthday and sharing with fans via Instagram, BUT the music & work never stops for her.

She’s gearing up to create a concept album based off the upcoming animated movie, Home. Variety reported that the news was announced from DreamWorks Animation chief, Jeffrey Katzenberg during the company’s earnings conference this Tuesday (Feb. 25). In addition to the album Rihanna will be performing the songs in the movie as well.

The movie hits theaters November 26th. For any Rihanna fans (#RihannaNavy) that keeps up with her album releases, November seems to be her lucky month. Her past 4 albums: Rated R, Loud, Talk that Talk, and Unapologetic have all been reeled in November and went on to be certified Platinum.

Aside from Rihanna being in the movie Jennifer Lopez, Steve Martin, Jim Parsons will also be a part of the project. The movie is based off the 2007 children’s book, “The True Meaning of Smekday,” by Adam Rex.
