A tour that is a match made in heaven for fans and great for the music business is expected to FINALLY happen. It has been reported that Jay-Z and Beyoncé will be touring starting in June and stopping in NYC on July 4th. The entire tour is expected to stop in 20 cities in the U.S.
Hopefully this tour is NO rumor and will be come official with dates and what not. Excited for this to happen. I’ve been wanting these two to go on tour FOREVER. I might just finally be getting my wish.
Elle Varner is back with another single off her upcoming album, 4 Letter Word, titled ‘See Me Tonight.’ This is the followup to her track, ‘Cold Case.’ Here’s what she had to say about the album:
The title is open to interpretation, hence the symbols used in the campaign – ‘>$@!’ It’s whatever you feel when you experience the album. Does ‘>$@!’ stand for love? Pain? Life? That’s for the listener to decide. 4 Letter Word has the kind of range that can’t be embodied by a single word or phrase.

August Alsina’s debut album,Testimony, hits stores 4.15.14. Here’s his new single and followup to his Rick Ross collab, ‘Kissin On My Tattoos’.
I announced a while back that Eminem and Rihanna would be going on a ‘tour’ together. I mean yes they are hitting the road to do a show together titled after their hit song, The Monster, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it a tour. The tour spans for 3 weeks and hits Cali, Detroit, and Jersey. Check out the dates and locations below:
August 7th – Los Angeles, Rose Bowl
August 16th – East Rutherford (NJ), Met Life Stadium
August 22nd – Detroit (MI), Comerica Park
As I stated, it’s not much of a ‘tour’ more of a road trip. Who knows if they’ll add more dates, but for those that get tickets I’m sure it will be one hell of a show. Ticket presale begins March 20th. Click here for all pre-sale info. Keep up with all the updates on this tour on Eminem.com.
As it leads up to his debut album release, R&B newcomer August Alsina, has teamed up with Rick Ross for the second single off his upcoming album, Testimony. The track is very heart felt and from the track listing I am interested in hearing the compilation that he’s bringing forth. He reminds me of a more raw Trey Songz (coincidentally they have ‘beef’) as far as song concepts. So far we’ve heard the ‘sex’ song, ‘struggle’ songand from the looks of the track listing maybe the makeup/breakup track.
Listen to ‘Benediction’ below as well as check out the official tracklisting. Testify in stores 4.22.14
March 16, 1996 marked the end of an epic journey for Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s, ‘One Sweet Day,’ as it bowed out the #1 spot on Billboard Hot 100. It had debuted on the chart December 2, 1996.
There has been no song to touch that streak. The last song within the new millennium to come close was Black Eyed Peas, ‘I Got a Feeling,’ but it did not make it past 14 weeks.
In addition to topping the Hot 100 the song also remained at #1 on Radio Songs for 13 weeks, Pop Songs & Adult Contemporary for 11 weeks, and Rhythmic Songs for 9 weeks. It topped the first Adult Pop Songs Chart which was established the same time the song was released.
Tere has been no song to touch that streak. The last song within the new millennium to come close was Black Eyed Peas, ‘I Got a Feeling,’ but it did not make it past 14 weeks. At the end of the 90s the track was named the Hot 100 Song of the Decade.
Mariah Carey is no stranger to the top of the Hot 100 having spent 79 weeks there. ‘Vision of Love,’ ‘Love Takes Time,’ ‘Someday,’ ‘I Don’t Wanna Cry,’ ‘My All,’ ‘Honey,’ ‘Always Be My Baby,’ ‘Fantasy,’ ‘Hero,’ ‘Dreamlover,’ ‘I’ll Be There,’ ‘Thank God I Found You,’ ‘Heartbreaker,’ ‘We Belong Together,’ ‘Don’t Forget About Us,’ and ‘Touch My Body,’ ALL topped the Hot 100. She has a dozen more tracks that ranked in the Hot 100 with majority peaking in the top 10.
Boyz II Men is not to be counted out as they are one of the most successful R&B groups of all time. They also had #1s on the Hot 100 which included: ‘On Bended Knee,’ ‘4 Seasons of Loneliness,’ ‘I’ll Make Love to You,’ and ‘End of the Road,’

I wasn’t too far off. All my votes were right except for ‘The Monster’ v. ‘Can’t Hold Us’; Mirrors beat ‘Can’t Hold Us.’ As for the last category I was wrong with my KP / Robin Thicke battle. It comes down to Lady Gaga’s, ‘Applause,’ versus Rihanna’s, ‘Stay.’ Tune in next week to see who makes the top 8.
Here are my picks:
Lorde, ‘Royals’ v. P!nk, ‘Just Give Me a Reason’
Imagine Dragons, ‘Radiactive’ v. Justin Timberlake, ‘Mirrors’
Daft Punk, ‘Get Lucky’ v. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, ‘Thrift Shop’
